Fill Up has no accounts, no log-in and no trackers. We never ask for your name, your e-mail or anything else that identifies you. The only thing the game sends us is anonymous gameplay statistics — which level was opened, which level was solved — so we can see which levels are too hard and which ones nobody finishes.
Who we are
Fill Up is made and published by Caprico Coding AB, a company registered in Sweden, which is the data controller for everything described here. You can reach us at play@caprico.se.
What the game sends
When you open a level or solve one, the game queues a single event:
- the event name (
level_started,level_complete) and the time it happened; - which level number it was, which language you are playing in, and — when you solve it — whether you had solved that level before.
Along with those events the game sends some technical context:
- a random installation ID and a random session ID (see below);
- platform and operating system, app version and build number;
- screen size, pixel density, language tag and time zone name.
That is the whole list. The events carry nothing you have written and nothing that points back at you as a person. Test builds we run ourselves are reported separately and never mixed into the real figures.
The installation ID
The first time the game runs it generates a random ID and stores it on the device. It lets us tell "one player who solved 30 levels" apart from "30 players who solved one level each". It is not derived from your device, your phone number or any account, and it is not shared with anyone. Delete the app — or clear the site data in the browser version — and the ID is gone for good; a fresh one is generated if you install again.
What we never collect
- Name, e-mail address, phone number or postal address.
- Contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
- Precise location. Your approximate country and region are derived from the IP address of the request and stored with the event; the IP address itself is not stored.
- Advertising identifiers. There is no ad network in the app, and nothing about you is profiled for advertising.
- Anything from other apps or websites. We do not track you across services.
Your progress
Which levels you have solved, the level you left half-finished, the hints you have been given and your chosen language are stored locally on your device — on your phone in the app's own storage, in the browser version in that browser's local storage. None of it is uploaded to us, and it does not travel between your devices.
Where the levels come from
The levels themselves are downloaded from our database on Google Firebase the first time you need them, and then kept on your device so the game works offline. Fetching a level means asking a server for a file; nothing about you is sent along with the request beyond what any web request carries.
Where the data goes
The events go to Beatmeter, our own analytics service, which we run on Google Cloud infrastructure. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook, advertising SDKs or any other third-party tracker, and we never sell, rent or trade the data. Google acts only as our hosting provider.
How long we keep it
Anonymous event data is kept for as long as it is useful for improving the game. Because it is not tied to a person, it is not deleted per player — there is no player to delete it for.
Legal basis, and your rights
Under the GDPR our legal basis for collecting anonymous gameplay statistics is our legitimate interest in understanding how the game is played and making it better. Since the data is not linked to your identity, we cannot look up "your" data on request — we have no way to know which rows would be yours, and under Article 11 of the GDPR we are not required to collect extra information in order to find out.
Children
Fill Up is suitable for all ages. We collect no personal data from anyone, children included, and the game contains no in-app purchases and no links out to social networks.
Changes to this policy
If the game starts collecting something new, we will update this page and change the date at the top before the new version ships.
